Paul is the assistant director of the Arapahoe Community College library, and has been in the library field for several decades. But he feels his true calling in life is to create music.

The way he composes, arranges, and plays the piano sets him apart from mortal humans, but he almost seems embarrassed if you mention it. “I’m just doing what’s been natural for me since I was a kid,” he says, downplaying the attention he gets from admirers.

Paul has written a marvelous piano concerto and tons of original pieces. He’s also arranged classics and inspirational music that become new creations taking   your breath away when you hear them performed.

Paul has finally gotten around to recording his music on CD. He also has joined guitarist and songwriter David Lyon to form a group with an eclectic variety of music available for every occasion. Lyon and Murdock in particular enjoy performing home concerts, where they can share their magic in a small, intimate setting. For more information or bookings, call 303-781-2665, or visit them at www.LyonLtd.com.

Paul Murdock:
America’s best-kept musical secret
“I think I’m watching Van Cliburn play,” intones one fellow musician. “He’s incredible, amazing.”

To see or hear Paul Murdock play is to be mesmerized and transfixed. You close your eyes, and, if you are lucky enough to see him perform in person, you pinch yourself that you are in the presence of someone whom you know belongs in some great concert hall.
