The talented Heritage Eagles team folded on the diamond in the semi-finals last year, but hopes are high that they could go all the way in 2004.

Heritage boasts seven players among the 25 best in Colorado, according to Baseball America. The seven names that will be putting fear into Continental League opponents are as follows:

First baseman-pitcher Luke French: The only junior on last year's Denver Post All-Colorado team. He's already signed with Nevada-Las Vegas. The lefty was 8-1 with 1.81 ERA, hitting .493 with eight home runs.

Third baseman-pitcher Chad Murray (6-2, 1.40, seven home runs), who is going to William and Marry.

Shortstop Jake Opitz (.475, 38 RBIs) has signed with Nebraska.

Center fielder Austin Krum (.456, six homers, 21 RBIs) is looking to try football and baseball at San Diego.

Left fielder Nathan Ence (just short of .400) is considering the Air Force Academy.

Outfielder-third baseman Jordan Bruns (.375, 16 RBIs)

Catcher Erik Whinery (.286, 17 RBIs) is headed for junior college.

Another player to watch is second baseman Jack Amidei, one of 12 seniors.
